Refractive Surgery - FAQ's
Qus- Can I get both eyes operated and treated at the same time? Ans- You can get both eye operated at the same time, this will reduce healing time which you will experience after surgery.
Qus- Can I drive myself home after surgery? Ans- Because your vision may be blurry for the first few hours after the procedure, and you will be under mild oral sedative prior to your surgery, it is advisable someone should drive you home, you will be able to drive within a day or two or maximum three days.
Qus - will my activities be normal after my surgery.
Ans - You will have to avoid visually strenuous activities for at least 1 to 2 days after LASIK and 3 days after LASIK / PRK. (Photorefractive keratectomy.)
Qus - Can I play sports after the surgery? Ans - Visual strenuous activities, sports on playgrounds, swimming and sport in rain should be avoided for several weeks.
Qus -Can I sprinkle water in my eyes? Ans -You should avoid sprinkling water in your eyes or getting wet in rains at least for a week after your surgery.
Qus - Can I use Make-up for my eyes? Ans - It will be advisable to avoid using eye make-up for a week or two after surgery to reduce the risk of infection.
Qus - Will my vision after surgery be perfect? Ans - Your vision after surgery will be perfect, or under corrected or over corrected. This can be adjusted with a minor enhancement procedure or touch-up. This procedure is performed approximately three months after the initial surgery if visual improvement is not satisfactorily attained, such enhancement is necessary only in 5% to 10% of cases.
